What means Ayurveda?

Ayurveda roughly translated means 'knowledge of life'. Ayurveda comprises two words: 'ayus', a noun in the Sanskrit language which means' life' that when connected with a new word changes in ayur 'and the other word' veda 'which means information, knowledge or understanding (on the self, the environment, as well as the Divine Creation). The message expresses through Ayurveda is 'know who you are.' Ayurveda is a natural healing system dating from the ancient Vedic culture, already applied as long as there is human civilization. The Vedic civilization as well as the recorded idiology (Veda 's, Upanishads, Samhitas, Purana' s etc.) were therefore well know to human society even before the start of the Christian era. Ayurveda is regarded as a system of healing knowledge indeed, the oldest form of medicine represented in human society.
